My Dearest Friend by Mary G. Kron

My Dearest Friend, by Michigan playwright Mary G. Kron, chronicles the true story of the lives of John and Abigail Adams. Using primary sources, the play is a touching flashback of the high points of their life together, making history come alive as it gives new insights into this most modern of historical couples.

Lowell Showboat Sizzlin' Summer Concerts

Join us on Thursday evenings, June 17 through August 26, for this free outdoor concerts series. Concerts are held on Riverwalk Plaza in downtown Lowell, Thursdays at 7:00pm.

Concerts are presented by LowellArts and the Lowell Area Chamber of Commerce.

Youth / Teen Class: Painting with Wool Prefelts

Create a lovely picture using colorful prefelts placed on a prefelt background and learn the wet felting process. This class will cover the entire wet felting process through instruction and demonstration. Using partially felted pieces of wool, the possibilities are endless. There is not one set subject, but rather individual creative inspiration. ​Ages 8 to 13 | Instructor: Sam Coon. Saturday, August 21, 10:00am – 12:00pm.


Featured Artist of the Month: Bruce Matthews Band

Leading man, Bruce Matthews, describes the band’s musical style as "front porch music," stating it’s the feel they're looking for - folks sitting around on the front porch, singing songs, and telling stories, and laughing and crying together, sometimes at the same time.

Fallasburg Arts Festival

The 2-day, outdoor event features over 100 unique fine art and fine craft booths, food booths, children's craft area, craft demonstrations, and music performed on an outdoor stage.

Youth/Teen/Adult Classes: Needle Felted Bumblebees

​Creating these little needle-felted bumblebees is a wonderful introduction for those interested in the art form of needle felting, as well as a fun project for those with previous experience. Learn about wool breeds, needle types and safety precautions, sculpting bases with core wool, and ‘painting’ a design with colorful dyed wool. Ages 10 to Adult | Instructor: Sam Coon.
