Student Scholarships

LowellArts Student Scholarships are designed for students considering a future career in the arts or a student interested in a summer arts learning experience.

Scholarships in the Visual and Performing Arts For College and University Students

LowellArts scholarship awards are made based on a competitive process which considers academic achievement, extracurricular activities, a statement of the applicant’s personal aspirations and goals, and financial need. Scholarship awards are made at the discretion of the scholarship committee’s recommendations. All awards are made without regard to race, creed, color, gender, religion, or national origin. Awards vary in size depending on the amount of income available in each particular scholarship fund.

Louise Harper Memorial Scholarship

The Louise Harper Memorial Scholarship is administered by LowellArts. Louise’s friends and family established this one-year award in her memory. Each year outstanding Lowell High School graduating senior(s) who is/are pursuing studies beyond high school in the fine arts (visual or performing arts) is honored. Please include applicable artwork and resume when applying for this scholarship.


LowellArts Scholarship

LowellArts Scholarship is a one-year scholarship administered by LowellArts and is awarded to an outstanding high school senior who is pursing studies beyond high school in any area of the arts including visual art, theater, music, dance and film. Please include samples of artworks, video, photos or resume of past arts experiences when applying for this scholarship.

The 2020 application will be posted on the website when it is available.

LowellArts Summer Camp Scholarships

LowellArts Summer Camp Scholarships are available to Middle School and High School students who live within the Lowell Area School district, including home-schooled students, for any summer arts program. 


The LowellArts scholarship committee will contact applicants by mail or phone with acceptance or rejection decisions. Awarded scholarship funds will be made payable to the attending school/organization. For more information, contact LowellArts office 616-897-8545.

Deadline: May 1, 2020

The 2020 deadline is for a summer camp experience in the summer of 2020. Please contact the LowellArts office for more details.

LowellArts is privileged to provide several annual scholarship awards each year.


Funds for these scholarships have been provided by family and friends honoring loved ones active in the arts and by art patrons wanting to further the arts through our young people.
