Dot Painted Gourd Bowls

Learn the tips and techniques of applying mandala-like dot designs to a prepared gourd bowl. Create a small, beautiful bowl painted in a mandala fashion with dot art tools. While the patterns appear complex, the technique is actually quite simple and can be easily adapted to other applications. The class includes demonstration and guidance to create your own unique design through color choices and dot patterns. Students are encouraged to apply a final seal coat at home after the paint has dried.

Lisa Boerema is a West Michigan based artist and instructor with degrees in Graphic Design and Art Education. Her art interests include hard shell gourd art, abstract watercolors, custom pet portraits, jewelry, and other related painting opportunities. Aside from creating art, Lisa is very excited about seeing the success and self-confidence a student has when learning a new technique.
