If you'd like to learn how to use needle felting fiber art techniques to create a small sculpture, or for those already familiar with the process, this forest animal is a fun project to create! Project examples for participants to choose from include a fox, raccoon, or badger. Class instruction includes wool types used, needle safety precautions and proper use, creating a form using core wool, and adding exterior details with dyed wool. Though finished sizes vary, the average size is approximately 3 1/2"-4" tall. Examples will be provided.

Samantha Coon is a self-taught artist, working in both wet and needle felting. She was introduced to felting in 2009 while living in mid-coast Maine. She has taught classes to both children and adults that include projects using resists, both sculptural and wearable, surface design techniques, working with pre-felts, and introductory needle felting.
