Create a lovely felted vessel out of soft, fine Merino batting and roving (unwoven wool) to mimic the patterns found in birch bark using the wet felting technique. Each vessel will be unique and vary in size. The average size is approximately 6-7” tall with a 3” wide diameter. Glass or ceramic vases can be set inside the vessel, it can be displayed as an art piece, or an LED candle can be added to be used as a luminary. This class includes instruction and demonstration of the wet felting technique to create a 3D object, which will include design layout using a resist, adding soapy water to the fibers, rolling, fulling, and shaping the finished felt vessel.
