At Ability Weavers we create beautiful, high quality handwoven rugs, towels, blankets, scarves & handbags along with other woven usable art. All of our products are made on site in our open weaving studio on vintage, and vintage-style 2 & 4 harness floor looms.

Our Lowell weaving studio is inclusive of adults with autism and other disabilities. Our mission is to provide an integrated work setting in which those with and without disability work side by side while contributing to the community in a meaningful way. This is all done through the art of weaving. Our weavers have become very skilled under the leadership of master weaver, Beryl Bartkus. Together we create beautiful and functional woven art.

Our weaving studio is set up to include a retail space as well as 12 looms that are actively being used on a daily basis. Our largest loom is 7 feet wide and nearly 8 feet tall. It allows us to create rugs up to 5 feet wide and almost any length. If a client doesn't find what they are looking for in our shop, we are happy to offer custom made products.

We welcome the public to visit our studio, meet our weavers and even try weaving for themselves.
