Needle Felted Chipmunk

Saturday, August 12, 10:00am-1:00pm

Using loose wool and felting needles, you will be able to create your very own chipmunk during this class. Instruction includes wool types used, needle safety and proper use, how to create a form using core wool, adhering pieces to the core, and adding exterior details with dyed wool. Though each finished project size varies, the average is approximately 4" tall. Examples and demonstration of techniques will be provided, and no previous felting experience is necessary.

Samantha Coon is a self-taught artist, working in both wet and needle felting. She was introduced to felting in 2009 while living in mid-coast Maine. She has taught classes to both children and adults that include projects using resists, both sculptural and wearable, surface design techniques, working with pre-felts, and introductory needle felting.
