Needle Felted Flower Painting

Saturday, June 24, 10:00am-12:00pm

Create a lovely flower 'painting' using dyed wool, fine felting needles, and fabric. Though no paint is actually involved in this class, the process is similar. Each student will have plenty of wool color options to choose from and a prepared fabric backing will be provided as the base; multiple flower types will also be available to choose from, along with finished examples. Instruction includes needle safety and proper use, supplies needed, wool types, and process demonstration. Once finished, these pictures can be framed, adhered to a small canvas, added to an embroidery hoop, etc. Beginners and those with previous experience are welcome to join!

Samantha Coon is a self-taught artist, working in both wet and needle felting. She was introduced to felting in 2009 while living in mid-coast Maine. She has taught classes to both children and adults that include projects using resists, both sculptural and wearable, surface design techniques, working with pre-felts, and introductory needle felting.
