Wet Felted Pebble Pods

Working with wool, using the wet felting process opens up a host of creative possibilities, and that's what this class is about. Instruction and demonstration includes the wool layout for creating a 3D object, using a resist, adding soapy water, rolling, fulling, and shaping the finished felt piece to form a unique, small vessel, or pod. Though completed sizes and shapes will vary, the average size is 4-5" long and 3" high. Plenty of wool colors will be available to choose from and examples will be provided.

Samantha Coon is a self-taught artist, working in both wet and needle felting. She was introduced to felting in 2009 while living in mid-coast Maine. She has taught classes to both children and adults that include projects using resists, both sculptural and wearable, surface design techniques, working with pre-felts, and introductory needle felting.
