Needle Felted Gnomes

Saturday, December 2, 3:00pm-5:30pm

Make your own unique little gnomes by needle felting with core wool and various colors of dyed wool. Class instruction will include wool types used, needle safety precautions and proper use, how to create a form using core wool, and adding exterior details with dyed wool, including arms, a hat, and a beard. Students will be able to complete 1-2 small gnomes during this class; though sizes vary, the average size of each gnome is approx. 4” tall. Beginners and those with experience are welcome to join!

Samantha Coon is a self-taught artist, working in both wet and needle felting. She was introduced to felting in 2009 while living in mid-coast Maine. She has taught classes to both children and adults that include projects using resists, both sculptural and wearable, surface design techniques, working with pre-felts, and introductory needle felting.
