Single Session

Saturday, May 25, 1:00pm-4:00pm

Using dyed wool, open weave cotton fabric, and fine felting needles, create a lovely petoskey stone ‘painting’, along with adding details using a simple running stitch design by hand sewing. Though no paint is actually involved in this class, the process is similar. Each participant will have wool color options to choose from to create a pallette and a prepared fabric backing will be provided as the base. Each student will have the choice of a design already printed on the fabric, so there is no need to draw, or to instead opt for a blank fabric piece for anyone wishing to draw their own design. Beginners and those with previous felting experience are welcome to join! The class goes over the needle felting process, care and needle safety, and demonstration, along with how to sew using the running stitch for those unfamiliar. Examples will be provided. When finished, these felted pictures are beautiful framed, wrapped around a small canvas, etc. The wooden embroidery hoops provided are 6” in diameter.
